Pivothead firmware is the software that runs on your Pivothead Eyewear!

 

Occasionally, as we update the features of Pivothead Eyewear - we will release new firmware. The latest publicly available firmware is version 0.40. Scroll below to download the latest version of the Pivothead firmware.

 

If you are unsure of the version of firmware running on your Pivotheads, follow the process outlined below.

NOTE: If you are formatting the Pivothead drive you must FAT32 as the file structure. Mac OS Journaled, NTFS, HFS+, exFAT, or any other file format. 

 

For Windows Users:

Step 1: Use your Pivotheads to capture an image.

Step 2: Connect your Pivotheads to your Windows based computer and navigate to the image the image you just captured.

Step 3: Select your captured image and right click to open the properties dialog box.

Step 4: Within your images properties dialog box select the details tab located at the top of the window. Within the details tab you will find a section labeled "Origins" which contains a property called "Program Name." This is your firmware version.

 

For Mac Users:

Step 1: Use your Pivotheads to capture an image.

Step 2: Connect your Pivotheads to your Mac based computer and navigate to the image the image you just captured.

Step 3: Open your selected image with the Preview application.

Step 4: After your Preview opens and loads your image navigate to the Tools tab located at top of the window. Under the Tools menu select "show Inspector" or use the keyboard shortcut command-I. A new window will appear labeled "more info." Within the more info window select the "I" or "info" tab at the top. The view will switch to show three sub menus: General, Exif, and Tiff. Select "Tiff" and navigate to the Software info area. This is your firmware version.



 

Firmware Installation

Step 1: If you haven't already - download the latest firmware below.

Step 2: Ensure your Pivotheads are fully charged and that they are connected to your computer

Step 3: Unzip the downloaded firmware file and copy the extracted .BIN file onto your Pivotheads' main directory next to the folder labeled "DCIM".

Step 4: Safely eject your Pivotheads and switch them off. The next time you power up your Pivotheads the firmware will be automatically updated and you will see a fast blinking blue light.DO NOT press any buttons while the blue light is blinking. After the firmware is installed your Pivotheads will automatically power off indicating that the firmware update was successful.

You are now ready to capture life in brilliant high definition video.
